I lived in Romania for decades, nobody stole my bike. I never heard of any bike stolen, nobody steals these.
Me and a friend moved to UK for a while, we bought bikes to visit the city (near London), within a week his bike was stolen, and it had a lock, they stole it too. that's when I started to realize that the UK has a problem.
