I don't know about jet engines, but I've noticed that these water vapors disappears as soon as the engine of my truck reaches it's operational temperature at around 80C. There's a huge trail driving with a cold engine in -40C.
How's jet engines any different? They burn fuel too and release the exhaust in the back, it's always cold up in the sky. Heck they even rev them up before takeoff to ensure they're warmed up properly.
