It's the (((liberal nature))) to look at tradition skeptically, which really means "with the intention of dismantling." It's a concerted effort to teach people to distrust their elders and their ancestors, because of course the modern enlightenment thinker knows much better
Today's thinkers are very anti-enlightenment. The Enlightenment was White and therefore bad.
"Rationalism", "liberty", "progress", "tolerance", "democratic government", "separation of church and state." All tenets of the enlightenment, all very in-line with today's thinkers.

Ironically, "teenage angst" and "counterculture", in the current era, could lead to consoom product.
