I can confirm the kidney stone claim and it even helps after you have stones. I was told I would need surgery to remove them after the ultrasound and scans showed large stones, took apple cider vinegar and it broke them up and made the passing not near as bad. Mentioned it to the doctor, they did not want to talk about it at all, completely ignored me about it and finally said sometimes they break up.

If anyone thinks they are having early symptoms of stones I would take some. I just mixed it with water in a small glass.

Stopped drinking all pop and tea after. I didn't drink much pop but drank a lot of tea. Completely switched over to coffee even in the summer.

Americans used to drink "switchel." It is apple cider vinegar, a little bit of molasses, ginger in water. It was a poor man's lemonade. They would keep a jug of it tied to a string in a cool stream so they could sip it in hot summer weather.

There were all sorts of claims about it, especially that if you were feeling tired working in the heat, a few swigs of switchel would restore your energy. Almost like a gatorade / powerade before we knew about salt (aka electrolytes.)

Molasses is disgusting.

The best bog's water is made this way.

1 cup of room temp water. A teaspoon on ACV. As much honey as you can manage. A few squeezes of lemon. A tbl spoon of ground ginger. Fresh ginger is better but you have to prepare it by slicing it up, putting it in a little hot water and letting it soak. Then add that to the bog's water.

Serve cold for best results.

I've experimented with putting baker's yeast in it to make it alcoholic but it turns out pretty nasty. It definitely gets alcoholic though.

I think our ancestors weren't accustomed to sweet things like we are today. Molasses, even black molasses, was plenty sweet for them.

My only caution would be to not put too much honey in. Honey is better than sugar, but it will still spike your insulin response.

The Romans were a very pragmatic people, you know. And they had a bunch of dead heeb lying around during Hadrien's reign, so they just ground them up and used them in all sorts of things.

Nah, meant to type herbs.

ACV is my go to cold medicine. If I ever get any sort of illness I drink about a tablespoon straight and whatever ails me usually clears up.

Any kind of vinegar works and makes different tastes. You can use molasses if you want, or maple syrup. In both cases I thought the drink turned out nasty.

My mom had bad acid reflux, and after trying all sorts of pills, discovered that vinegar (any kind) would fix it right up. She would mix like a tablespoon in a cup of water and chug it.
