There's the famous dad reflexes, a father will sacrifice his own health to save his kid if needed. Should have protected the kid and curb stomp the raccoon as if it was a nigger. The kid probably belongs to the mailman.

that's literally what i would do, sure i would've been alarmed by getting a bite out of nowhere, but after the initial fear subsides, *rage soon would follow*

which would mean the rac-**coon** would've been a crushed corpse on the sidewalk

but alas our soytagonist didn't follow the coon, and instead sought shelter from an animal that's 50 times smaller than him (we're essentially Titans to them)
