This is why the entire legal system needs to be dismantled and (((lawyers))) need to be summarily executed by guillotine.
Any society that has a system of law so arcane it needs an entire profession to interpret them is not a functioning society. If the average peasant cannot understand your legal code, your legal code is too complicated.

can't believe this thought doesn't get more attention. harder to believe still is the respect lawyers get whenever you utter the word. our cultures worship people whose job it is to do word tricks and sophistry.
Ancient Greece had it right with banning court speechwriters, shame it didn't last.
Agreed; the legal profession is a racket. Allegedly the courts exist to enforce laws and arbitrate disputes, which they ought to do for their salaries -- but they won't, they overwhelmingly require the exceedingly expensive hire of a third party lawyer if a plaintiff or defendant wants a good result. They have shit up the system with pageantry and minutae to the point where it is borderline impossible for a man to represent himself.
Ban lawyers. Ban barristers. Erase British commonlaw and establish a proper Inquisitorial system.
Even worse, our laws are so convoluted and numerous that even the professionals are just as ignorant as you or I outside of the narrow branch they specialize in. And even in their own specialized field, they often have to do a lot of research into the law as part of their job.
Just like Tacitus said, "The more corrupt the state, the more numerous the laws."

The piggers who enforce the will of the legal-judicial prison complex are powerful.
