You buy a gift card and tell them the numbers. They are sitting there ready to deposit it into their own wallet. They then sell for cash.

They tell White boomers that their facebook account has been hacked or something similarly dumb, and they need to give microsoft support $2,000 dollars to fix it. You'd be surprised how often this works.

Every year around tax season the irs puts out an official statement saying that you can't pay taxes with gift cards. They do this because people are that stupid.
