Not enough context but I think this guy will go to prison. You have to convince the court you beleive you're about to die if you take someone else's life.

Men need to be more responsible than just carrying a gun, you have to know how to use your fists when its the right tool for the job.

Also, that's considered overkill, which is not self defense. If he shot once or twice and kept a distance after that, then he would be fine in most trials.
