The concept of the wagie and pizza parties makes it funny. You never meant anything to the company you worked for. When you died, your body was decomposing in your cubicle before a random person followed the smell to find your dead body.
It's sad for the exact same reason.
All of this is why when I began working for a corporation I viewed all of my coworkers as nothing more than associates, never friends. In reality, none of them are your friends. Dedicate your life to a corporation, be forgotten in an instant.
The movie "The Office" was pretty accurate.
