That's not even about coding. That's simply the process of enshittification. It was already there, it worked, it was fine. Now it's missing and it's worse.
I recently figured out it's already parsed by jewtube when I used the "mildest" version. I got a warning popup for basically answering someone why Orania wasn't a nigger shithole (it's racial IQ dif).
So now I test it with multiple characters ("aggressive") and spaces changed too.

No, here's the long technical reason.
We have MP4 video posts, and we used to use a custom HTML5 video player for that.
We also have custom tweet embeds:
- to preserve user privacy
- because the official tweet embed is very heavy
- because the official tweet embed blocks VPNs and even residential IPs at random
Tweets sometimes contain videos, of course. Twitter videos usually require HLS video streaming, rather than MP4. This is where it serves small chunks of the video. The default HTML5 video player does not support this.

I see. But what about the volume setting? It's only possible to mute and unmute. A slider should appear when you mouseover it.
I happen to have some PiP extension, where if you make it large enough (half the screen), a volume slider shows up (it also has no settings, they "optimized" it).
If you could add that, I'd really appreciate it.

Can't it just sit next to the speaker icon, like it always has?
Or if you want to use that, might as well use a big ass slider, so you can at least set the volume accurately. Volume control with mouse wheel is also kinda handy.

Whenever I use this site on mobile, I've also noticed it's gotten progressively worse. The text auto correct is horrible, often clumping words together when they were properly spaced a half second before, forcing you to tyoe extra slow to prevent it. Clicking on the screen doesn't match where you click; it's off by a lot. Clicking on the text box moves your screen and unselects the text box.
It didn't used to be this bad. It's gotten progressively worse. This is easily the worst social media site to use on mobile. I suspect they're making it worse on purpose, because they attracted the wrong crowd (us).

Is this about the mobile website? As opposed to the mobile app, or the desktop website.

TBF my self having had code video players in the last few years where we went from a normal 16:9 to 9:16, not to mention browsers going off on tangents, ayh can empathize with the devs. Those headaches are just for local storage of a wide variety of video compressions.
Most people do not realize that those Twitter, Rumble, YouTube embeds are even more aggressive and taxing on delivering the site.. but the worst culprit is those links for other sites that show generalized content. Those require a go-between to aggregate the meta data then create an embed. They likely pay for that.
IMO ayh prefer the 4chan style forums where you can reply with images and video. Makes for better threads of data compiling. It is weird people mock reddit while basically being on another reddit :)

Well, fuck embeds if they can't run without 100 megabytes of google analytics scripts, APIs and metadata. For a site like conpro all you need is uploaded mp4, like you said about 4chan, with support of conversion from a few common codecs, support for simple embeds hosted from file hosters and the rest with their gay and exotic shit can just fuck off lol.

To be fair, while youtube shorts still has the 9:16 and vertical scrolling shit, they did improve the video controls. And regular youtube also has added a bunch of cool and useful features to their player. But for a simple video player that isn't a whole damn website but just an mp4 player...
Just talking about the UI:
The standard firefox video player is a perfect example of simple design that works well:
* regular volume slider/mute
* regular fullscreen button
* esc to exit full screen
* Space = pause/play
* left/right arrows to go forward/backwards a few seconds
additionally maybe up/down arrows for volume.
If there is more stuff like options for video quality, play speed or captions, put them in a gear menu.
Doesn't need any more or less than that, but still seems to be like rocket science for web devs. Probably mostly indian and/or retards who all think they have to reinvent the wheel instead of considering conformity with expected behavior standards.

You know, preview post. Where you would see how the post would look like with applied formatting before you send it. We used to have that, but I think it disappeared along with the old style.
Also the formatting tools for bold, italic, etc. are gone. You can still use them if you know the dark arts, like \*\* **bold text** \*\*
Just here I used the hidden lore with escape characters and since I can't preview the post, I just have to guess that it's right (or scramble for a ninja edit if it's wrong) u/#smug
