You know, you aren't the first person to have theorized that. I've seen other people claim too that many of these women executed for being "witches" were really just proto-feminists and all the smart men of the time could see what damage feminism would cause, but knew they'd never be able to explain it all to the rest of the midwits so they just labeled them as 'witches' so they could execute them all the same.
