Police and gov in the USA regularly rob people LEGALLY with civil asset forfeiture as well as selling a home with a tax lien on it in order to pocket the difference between sale price of the home vs tax owed. Or, in some cases, forcibly sell your property through eminent domain and resell to another private entity.
