Hello goys, i wanted to ask here if anyone could recommend me some fiction literature. I think it goes without saying that i'm asking specifically for not-kiked stuff but it's even better if it is based (though i don't know how likely that is, maybe only the turner diaries)

Another aspect is its purpose, lovecraftian stories for example obviously leave you with that overwhelming sense of futility and dread. So while i somewhat enjoy those types of stories, in my opinion, fiction in all aspects should be used as motivation for the real world, so for example if you read about an honorable knight lifting a heavy boulder to throw at a dragon you might feel a certain inspiration and go train at the gym.

So yes, any fiction books you have enjoyed that you would recommend?

Conan the Barbarian is a classic series of short stories. He was like the original murder hobo.

Can't go wrong with Robert E. Howard in general. His lesser known characters like Solomon Kane the Puritan murderhobo are also great.

Might help to name some common books you've already read. Lord of the Rings fits the requirements you've listed, walking instead of lifting though.

Presently I've just started reading Children Of Men, which is pretty dystopian and dark mooded right now but from a vague memory of the movie I watched years ago the ending is hopeful, although the hope was for a black child but who knows that might have just been Hollywood adding blacks for the sake of it.

Edit: How about Homer's Illiad and Odyssey? Admittedly I only read the graphic novel version so I can't recommend a translation for the proper books but it's an awesome story and I thought the visuals were great.

Apart from classical works i had to read during my school years i haven't really read much fiction which is why i am asking. I tried to get into harry potter at the insistence of my peers and family when it was all the rage some years back but i was thoroughly disgusted with the, for lack of a better term, slave morality displayed within it. i have heard good things about lord of the rings from people like varg however i'm not sure if i trust any "new editions". Is there a particular edition i should look out for?

The Hobbit --> Lord of the Rings, read the first one first. If you find that you enjoy the fantasy aspects, the Silmarillion is worth. Pretty sure you don't have to worry about LotR books being ruined in reprints yet, but to be safe, buy a version printed a couple years back or more -- Tolkien's son Christopher pretty much devoted his life to publishing and faithfully representing his father's work. Hence the movies being based, and no shitty amazon pussyworship garbage until after he died.

The works of Robert E. Howard, both Conan and others.

Early Tom Clancy, particularly Hunt for Red October and Red Storm Rising. Good fun military reading, and look inside the old style zogbot mythos, i.e. what they thought they were and imagined themselves doing.

The Screwtape Letters, by C.S. Lewis. Lots of his stuff is worth reading.

If you think you could have liked Harry Potter without the lameness, check out David Eddings Belgariad and Mallorean books. They are solidly in the 'young adult' category, and I read them when I was young so there's surely some nostalgia on my part, but I thought they held up as light reading as an adult. Current Year reviewers whine about the 'gender roles' depicted in it for good reason.

Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

I couldn't get cast the first few pages of Harry Potter because the simplistic writing style.

I highly recommend LotR then based on your request, even though it is very Christian influenced. I've read it multiple times, my main copy is a second edition maybe from the early 70s of the 3 in one book, and I've read some with the film tie in covers also and I did not notice any changes, look for old editions if you're worried but I don't think it's been rewritten at all like has happened to Roal Dahl.

Also don't know if you saw my edit after thought but the Iliad and Odyssey too.

they are good, i just found that whatever medium, especially fiction you consume will lead you to be in certain emotional states. and being in a motivated state after reading something that fills your imagination with inspiring fantasy is good

Sci-fi futuristic, but love the Red Rising series, class system where people are broken down into colors, something happens to main characters wife, causing him to work and burn down the society that caused it. Moon is a Harsh Mistress, Dracula, One flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Island of Dr Moreau

Any Arthurian tale is based though written in a style that is old.

I like Dostoevsky. His style of writing while old fashioned I find enjoyable.

Moby Dick, Great Expectations... basically all classic works of literature. The old Norse Eddas are written in the style of the Holy Bible and the Illiad.

The Red and the Black by Stendhal is a really good read.

I like The Road by Cormac McCarthy. It will make one appreciate one's life and not be so nihilistic.

Harold Covington wrote several WN fiction books. I've never read them, but always heard they were good. Here's a more complete list https://archive.ph/7KicM

Robert Heinlein's *Tunnel in the Sky* was written partly as a riposte to *Lord of the Flies* which was published a year earlier. From wikipedia

> Its underlying themes run counter to those in Lord of the Flies, however, in that it shows a belief in the inherent strength of humans as proto-adults who can self-organize rather than descend into barbarism.
