No, *Satan* doesn't gain more power but he can grant certain groups of people more or less worldly power of his own depending on how well they serve him. Its the sole reason why the jewish war machine has stayed together for 2,000 years and running. Without some supernatural backing, they would have disintegrated under their own nigh-on countless shortcomings long ago. And its quite obvious what supernatural entity backs them.
