Not really a permanent golem, more like temporary shock troops calculated to sustain heavy losses. I'm not saying I'm necessarily for it on a large scale either, but even Adolf worked with the undesirables long enough to obtain the power necessary to right things, and then they all got it on the Night of the Long Knives. It's not something that should be definitively off the table, especially on the small scale.
