Yeah I think sometimes people underestimate how potent instinctual racism is. When I was a little kid I would regularly express disdain for the black kid at church and that I was glad to be born White and not black. My zioboomer mom would seethe out of her mind every time I did so, clearly wondering who the fuck was teaching her son heckin racism. And in reality, there had never been any such influence in my life transmitting those sentiments. It was all raw instinct.

Gather a bunch of different chickens together in the same run and they all naturally separate into groups based on breed. Different breeds exhibit drastically different behaviors. The groups exclude chickens that behave differently to keep their natural power structures and pecking order intact.

same with dogs, they know their own breed and prefer to be with them - the more intelligent ones anyway
