I had the same experience, but there was a simple solution. You literally just ignore any idiot who told you to mask.
I don't mean stand and argue, I don't mean flick off and keep moving.. Like you literally pretend they did not exist. They're invisible and you can't hear them.
I had some moron yell "MASK ON" at the produce section, ignored him. He goes to his coworker "maybe hes deaf??", the guy follows me around the store talking, I don't hear it, I don't care. He doesn't exist. I just continue shopping. He's got a dumb look on his face. Eventually he just leaves. Every time I talk to them they LOVED to argue about it with me. Sorry don't give a fuck what an NPC has to say, won't even pay the most basic courtesy of acknowledging they exist.
When you pretend they're not there. It was the fastest way to get people to give up and leave, and I'm sure it fucked with them a bit too. Engaging with them at the most basic level was a waste of time, just don't do it. Let them call the cops, by the time they arrive (if at all) I've already checked out and left.

i literally did just that, they either give up or they fucking follow you to the register, trust me brother it took a lot of self-control (frontal lobe supremacy) not to sucker punch the cunt in the mouth, Innos was testing me that day and in the end after much back & forth, she fucked off and i finished my shopping session without being muzzled
though imagine doing that shit every week, it literally made me use (((online ordering))) which i have to say has more downsides than upsides, esp when things are out of stock and their incompetent faggots who run the site don't bother actually updating the current stock

and yes, there was one time when a dark, musky (smelly) muslim nigger was at the grocery next to my grandma at midnight without a muzzle, the Cashier asked him shakingly "sssir? cccan you put on a mask?" and he just looked at him like he was going to stab him and and the cashier was like "no-nno need! just put your things in your register and go"
i felt like a massive cuck because i had a mask on (this was at the start of the covid charade) and realized they are literally, and i mean literally are shaking in fear the nano-second they face real resistance
just a few months after that incident i went to a drop-off location to pick up a package, ofc there was a faggot there with a mask and ofc he told me "ya gotta muzzle, goyo" so i noticed they kept the packages on my floor, went in and took it out
the dude came chasing after me SIR SIRRRRRRRRRR YOU CANNOT TAKE THE PACKAGE WITHOUT SIGNING IN THE COMPUTER, i said to the faggot "its my package, i don't give a fuck about your faggot masks, you don't like it, you can call the cops and say i stole my own package"
defeated the faggot just asked me for the redemption number so i can leave, and thus i left but not before calling him a faggot which got him to curse me in many, many vibrant ways u/#peped
