When I learned they were polytheistic it blew my mind because I was taught repeatedly in school that it was monotheistic just like Christianity.

For example: ever new moon, jews go outside and do a little dance and say a prayer to the moon god. Sounds like a fantasy pagan ritual or a superstitious rain dance, but it is real and you can see common jews doing it in the modern day.
