Nanny government here restricts access to an extremely safe treatment against mites commonly found in birds.

Part of good practice to do a preventive miticide treatment before breeding season so the breeding pair can't infest the chicks if they carried mites.

Went to a few vet clinics and asked to purchase that product. Was told I could not get it without bringing my finch (singular, one consultation per pet ) for a yearly medical exam.

Sure buddy, I'm going to bring my finches for a $150 vet exam each, every year. I hate the nanny state.
