The "Swarthy effect" really depends on the occupation and city
in example, the Wine sellers in Omodos were White as fuck and spoke perfect english, the traditional goods salesmen right next to them were swarthy and their english was not perfect (and some of them... were dishonest, one store had a pajeet working there selling fake olive oil, but all the other goods like Soutzoukos and Hazelnut cream liquor were legit)
though swarthiness doesn't always correlate with dishonesty
the Greeks in Crete (who cannonically was conquoered by Turkroaches many times) are swarthy as fuck but they're honest folk who sell their goods for a fair price, but they're low IQ and their grasp of English is "loose" at best in comparison with the Greeks from rich islands like Rodos is very apperant
i'll give you another example: I've been on a 2 week mediterranean cruise and i've been in Italy from their western parts, to the central part to Sicily
and my experience in Western italy was WORSE than in Sicily, idk if Genoese (who appear very White but also very fat) got some jew in their blood (they probably do) but they were a lot more dishonest than mainland Italians , and the Sicilians despite some of them being low IQ charlatans (attempted to charge 5 fucking euros for a single table cover, i bought literally 5 for 5 in Cyprus) some merchants sold me quality merchendise for a fair sum (24 euros for a whole liter of almond cream liquor, good shit) but there were some hucksters with such nerve... for example i wanted an espresso from a cafe which was 3 euros (which is kinda expensive for a fucking smol cup of espresso but what the hell) but when i told him it was togo, he demanded an ADDITIONAL euro for the tiny paper cup (its literally a plastic cup, costs maybe 1-2 cents each) i IMMEDIATELY demanded my money back and went elsewhere for my cuppa, to my suprise if you go to a bakery an espresso is a lot less than 2 euros, try 1.60)
now if i'd be talking about wines and wine prices... you'd consider *italians to be the jews of the mediterranean*
because most wines in italy aren't fermented traditionally, they are "cooked" in stainless steel vats and bottled without aging
only special wines and aged red are fermented the traditional way, but most of the wines you get in resturants are the cheapest table wine they can buy in bulk, and it shows...
if you ever visit Cyprus you really aught to go to Omodos and get yourself some [Commandaria wine](https://oenouyiwine.com/products/commandaria/), its delicious and it has to be made traditionally (sun-dried grapes, and aged at a minimum of 3-6 years in a barrel)
