I just caught youtube *arbitrarily increasing the brightness of my phone screen* during an ad, then lowering it again.

I fucking hate kikes. Kikes caused this. Literally kill all kikes.

I'll try to give an actual helpful response

I have a firefox extension called **ublock origin** (works in chrome too) that will purge all the interrupting advertisements from youtube videos.

On your phone, youtube videos will try to play through the youttube app even when you use a special browser like brave, and you have to be sure to set it so that it doesnt. If you tap "allow" the first time, itll never ask again and all the youtube links will open the app. You'll have to go into your settings and find a way to disable the app, the process for this is different depending on what phone you have and could be really easy or impossible. If impossible I have 2 other solutions:

1. Easy method is to change the youtube links into one from a mirrored site like invidious ( https://api.invidious.io ). Copy the last part of the youtube link, where it says "/watch/...." and paste it after "yewtu.be" or one of the other invidious links. From here you are able to download your videos if you want. You can also set it to stream only the audio to save battery and data, and it lets you turn off your screen during music streams. And you can download the mp3. Super useful free service.

2. The other alternative method is to use an app called **new pipe**. It's a youtube mirror just like invidious but this is an app you install onto your phone that is basically a non-gay version of the youtube app. You can turn off your screen, download videos, make playlists, download mp3s, save favorites etc all without an account and no ads.

To get it you need to first install an app called **f-droid** (https://github.com/f-droid/fdroidclient ). This is a alternative app-store that gives you a ton of options to download and install apps rejected from the google-play-store. All the apps are free and f-droid warns you of any tracking and ads they might have. From that link, scroll down to where it says "download the application", and then open the .apk file on your phone. It should warn you, then install the app. Once f-droid is installed, open it and search for "new pipe".

Bonus: **Night Owl** is an app that allows you to directly control your phone's brightness. No other apps would be able to adjust it for you. This app is essential imho bc it allows you to lower the brightness to below the minimum settings! My phone blinds me in a dark room even at the lowest brightness, so this app is necessary. I can set it to be 10% the minimum! Get night owl from f-droid the same way you get new pipe.
