Being cast out of the comfort of civilized life is no picnic. You're not wrong that it's a bad strategy for them in the long term; hard times->strong men and all that. But it's going to get worse before it gets better.

Consume Product is not meanspirited. Being mean for petty reasons is not the Consume Product way. Lead by example, be the change you want to see.
