is there anything we can reasonably do about this? or have we decided on staying fully public and unvetted and are thus doomed to low quality irrelevance?

the really unfortunate part is that we're all fully aware of how forums like ours are intentionally disorganized by external forces - it would be more unfortunate still to just sit by and let it happen.

anyone have any opinions or ideas on this matter?

can someone define what conpro is at this point

originally a parody of consumerism. then seemed to have some "hard" conservative viewpoints on the wins. On arete it's the most popular board and the site has low amounts of traffic so in practice I feel like it's almost a "general" board.

but mostly I don't know what is or isn't conpro at this point tbh. I get a blend of the first two points that I mentioned (mocking excessive consumption and posting of conservative views).

It's a combination of neoluddites, Christians, pagans, anti consumerists, fascists. People who just want to go back to a simpler time, hate the modern world, and the people who caused this garbage that has been happening to it. Originally it was just a subreddit to mock consumerists and internet political retards, and as a consequence, people who agree with these things I said earlier flocked there for the sense of community.

At least, that's how I view it.

I think the spread of Reich posting comes from the belief that it would be an easy way, if not the only way, to return tradition to the forefront of society. Insurgent certainly encourages this, but it works because it resonates. It resonates because of all the parallels we are seeing between the current status quo and Weimar.
