Since truth is required to pursue perfection, what are the fundamentals of truth, how is it defined, and how can we figure it out? How does truth compare to life?

Let’s first compare truth to life. Life is finite, mortal, imperfect, has free will, and is capable of change. Life is limited in space, limited in time, it can be hurt, it dies, it’s subject to the forces around it, it can’t do everything it wants, it doesn’t have complete understanding of truth, it has imperfect memory, it sometimes makes mistakes and harms itself, and it doesn’t have total control of its surroundings. There are some exceptions, however.

Life is infinite in its free will, possibility, creativity, and sharing of information. We’re limited in what we can do from moment to moment, but over an entire life, over a an entire generation, over every generation, an entire species, or all of life itself over all time, we are infinite in potential and possibility. We’re not limited in our choices and free will. We stand at one point, but are free to go in any direction, along any path, for any purpose, and may choose to do anything in our power, at any moment in a lifetime of moments, anything from great to small, and any infinite measure between. We may be swayed by the lifetime of choices preceding each moment, but we can swerve in any direction at any moment. The forces surrounding us still act upon us, but they don’t control us. We’re alive; we’re not machines carrying out programming with no variation. That is the infinite potential of free will. In our creativity, depending on the mental prowess of the life, we can imagine any scenario we wish in our own minds, free of all the rules and limitations of the universe, if we choose. We can write these imaginations and fabrications down, and pass them on to others. The information we share with others is similarly limitless. No matter how much we share of truth, it never dwindles or becomes lesser, no matter how many take of it.

Life is immortal in our actions, children, and what we bequeath. Through each choice we make, there’s a never ending stream of downstream consequences. Our children carry on in our stead, who take up the mantle of their parents and grandparents, in every generation throughout all of time, so long as the line remains unbroken. What we pass on and teach to others, the immaterial knowledge and wisdom we learn and share, the traditions and lessons, remain immortal in each generation that remembers it and passes it on.

Life is perfect in what we perfectly do, and in our purpose. If we believe, speak, or act in perfect accordance with truth, then that thought, word, and action is perfect. While perfection will never be the average of life, it still occurs in small portions here and there. Our purpose, in pursuit of perfection and seeking of truth is also perfect. There is a seeming contradiction here, as even those who err greatly are still serving the greater purpose of life, to discover what’s true and what’s false, giving there life as a testament to what’s false, even if unaware.

The fundamental descriptors of truth is that it’s infinite, immortal, perfect, and immutable.

Truth is infinite because there is no scope or boundary to it that can encapsulate it. Count to infinity, and you’ll be no closer to it after starting than when you began. Count the decimal numbers between 0 and 1. They are infinite. Count the decimal numbers between 0.0001 and 0.0002. They are infinite. They are infinitely infinite. Kurt Gödel also showed in his incompleteness theorems that truth is infinite, because no matter how large a system we conjure to encapsulate truth, there will always be more things which lie outside the system we create.

Truth is immortal because it’s forever. Life which espouses or adheres to truth may be harmed, subjugated, imprisoned, or killed, but no action by life, or the forces of the universe itself, can harm or kill truth. It can’t be scratched, tarnished, threatened, beaten, enslaved, eroded, destroyed, or murdered. Truth is immortal.

Truth is perfect because perfection is reliant upon truth. There may be confusion here, thinking this to be circular logic, but truth and perfection are the same thing. Perfection flows from truth, and truth is the embodiment of perfection. We judge what is and isn’t perfect against truth. Truth is the measure and the source, and perfection occurs when truth is adhered to in totality.

Truth is immutable because it never changes. Truth doesn’t change upon our whims or feelings. Truth doesn’t go away when we censor it or demonize it. Truth doesn’t lose power when we pass laws ignorant of it, or behave antithetical to it. Truth is absolute.
