If she turns against you she's most likely cheating, so Matthew 19:7-9 comes into play as a justification for kicking her to the curb.

What about situations where the wife hasn't cheated (or at least it cant be proven) and is in open rebellion to her husband and the church and state both would side with her instead of the husband? God hates divorce and so do I but I struggle with an answer to those men.

There’s a verse in 2 Corinthians, 7 (I think) that says that if the non believer want to leave the marriage, then it’s not a sin to let them go, or something to that extent.
