Daqwuantavest Taqwuan Barber, aged 30, this drug-addled if not outright defective-looking character whose myriad crimes include burglary, domestic violence, and attempted murder, has finally been shot dead.
Amusingly, 11 years earlier, his brother and fellow criminal D'unta Marquis Barber, aged 20, whose crimes included trespassing and cocaine- and marijuana-related charges, was also shot dead.
> Tarece Lamark Cooks, 19, of 924 2nd Ave., is charged with murder, according to an arrest warrant. He was taken into custody on Tuesday afternoon and is awaiting a bond hearing, according to Deputy Drew Pinciaro, Greenville County Sheriff's Office spokesman.
> On Tuesday night, deputies were called to a shooting at Boulder Creek Apartments. When deputies arrived, they found Dunta Marquis Barber, 20, of Cypress Street with at least one gunshot wound, authorities have said.
> Barber was in the parking lot of Boulder Creek Apartments, 300 Furman Hall Road, when witnesses heard a gun discharged, the Coroner's Office said. Barber was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead at 6:58 p.m. Monday.
> Pinciaro said there was an altercation between Cooks and Barber that led to gunfire and Barber being struck at least one time.
Bizarrely, in one of D'unta's arrest records it says the following:
> Hair Color: Blonde
> Eye Color: Blue
This despite the mugshot clearly showing black hair and black eyes.
Either way, no mo' Daqwuantavest Taqwuan nor D'unta Marquis, fo' sho'!
I also find it interesting that Daqwuantavest sounds like a bastardized version of Da'Quantavious. One can imagine how it came about: a mother who couldn't spell 'Da'Quantavious' tried her best.
What we now need is another negress to think: 'Hey, Daqwuantavest was a hella cool name, I think I'll name muh keed that. But I don't know how to spell it...' And then we'll get an even more comical name in future, a bastardization of a bastardization. One day I hope, God Willing, that there will be a Da'Kquwuantavestavious Takqwuantavious.
