This is one of those theories I never really believed, apart from netanyahu maybe thinking that hamas would attack Israel first and justify a war to westerners and thus allowing it to exist. However, that never happened. Israel always attacked gaza first. Look up the reasons for the past intifadas. Hamas has been in charge of gaza since 2007. That's about 16 years of explicitly NOT attacking Israel, but Israel attacked gaza plenty of times during this period. Hamas even changed their constitution to not directly attack Israel or jews, and they entered a peace agreement with Israel. Which was violated by Israel, not hamas, in the 2010s.
We know what Israeli created terrorist groups *actually* do to justify wars, such as ISIS, and hamas never did this until 2023. And there's no proof that hamas actually killed all of those random israelis, the IDF is more than willing to slaughter 100s of its own yids. Or make it significantly worse than it actually is. And moreover, what would you do in this situation? You're being murdered by jews for almost 100 years, bombarded constantly, you've had your peace agreements broken, you have settlers. What would *you* do? Just not fight back? Hamas showed restraint for over a decade. They worked with Israel for over a decade and tried to come to terms. Israel constantly fucked them over. Israeli constantly killed gazans. Is the fact that hamas wasn't willing to let jews walk all over them like fatah proof that they're secretly Israeli created?
