Ultimately what I'm seeing as the fundamental problem here is that the courts allowed racial slurs to be classified as fighting words. I understand why fighting words are not free speech (I don't like it but I understand it). And obviously saying "nigger" is generally considered free speech, but the idea that "nigger" constitutes fighting words when directed at a cop is not only problematic for the entire concept of free speech but it also implies that niggers are so fucking dumb that simply being called what they are will trigger an uncontrollable violent reaction (which of course we know is true, but the courts, as a function of the (((government))), usually avoid plainly stating such things).
