Bullet proof glass between the customers and staff is commonplace in tough neighborhoods in SoCal for 30 years now.

Recently, like in the last 5 years, I have seen City Halls put up bulletproof glass in the city council meeting auditoriums--separating the city council from the public. School board meeting rooms, utility district meeting rooms, just about any meeting room open to the public is now putting up bullet proof glass.

The public meetings behind glass is pretty crazy. Eventuality they will broadcast from a separate room or AI will just be in charge of everything.
