They’re still totally going to trade oil in USD after this /s
I hope everyone realizes how fucked we are. Saudis are likely going to ally with China after this entire thing is over. With Iran being the regional military superpower covering their asses from the west.
The US relationship with Saudi is contingent on the US being a half-decent buyer of their petroleum and whether or not the US continues to give them free money.
If the US fails to protect Saudi oil, and actively promotes a policy that will destroy their ability to produce oil, the Saudis have no reason to continue their relationship with the US. The Saudis are not beholden to Israel or the United states, they just want money. If you fuck with their money, they will find someone else. The US is fucking with their money. Therefore, they can easily find someone else (namely china, also russia). But Saudi joining BRICS would be a huge deal. Saudi has made overtures towards siding with the eastern half of the world multiple times, particularly in 2017, but the US was always able to reign them in. Well, now america has caused their oil refineries to get bombed, so this is quite unprecedented.
And it's not entirely unfair on the part of the Saudis. Oil is their entire lifeline. If their oil is being destroyed, then they have nothing because they produce nothing because they cannot really produce anything. The US is not only fucking with a revenue stream, they're fucking with the only revenue stream in the entire country, besides pilgrimages to Mecca. Granted, Saudi is successfully investing in ways to diversify their economy to be successful without oil. Once this happens, we might see a more idealistic saudi arabia that is more independent on the world stage than the purely pragmatic saudi arabia that currently exists which is entirely beholden to who is the best oil buyer.
Edit: I really think that the iran strikes on saudi in particular, but across the gulf in general, was a series of strategic plays of realpolitik to show them that the US is a shitty ally, and that if they ally themselves with iran (and also russia and china more broadly), that they will be better protected by threats than what the US offers. On the surface the attacks look pretty random, but look closer. The attacks were not preceded by any announcement of war and the damage has been largely minimal (apart from the US bases destroyed). But it showed blatant weaknesses in their own abilities as well as the ability of the US to defend the assets of the gulf States, which would naturally pivot them away from reliance on the west in general. And, America offered virtually no support for the gulf States and has exclusively made overtures towards protecting Israel, which iran definitely knew would happen and which the gulf States have definitely noticed.
Although there is an alternative, and that's that it's just Israel doing what Israel does, striking saudi arabia and blaming Iran to get Saudi arabia involved in a conflict that they initially didn't support. Either way, it's aggressive realpolitik that saudi is at the receiving end of.
Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

PMSL at the delusion of degenerate warmongering jew-pet americans. If it wasn't for the Team America retards the Jews probably couldn't have manipulated an entire country so easily.

Thanks Trump.

The US has all the oil
Mission accomplished
Let the rest of the world burn
Brilliant tactical decision
It's like if the US manipulated Russia so that Mexico levels DC
... wait, that sounds like a good idea ...
What would winning look like again?
