There's thousands of extremely talented musicians in America of all genres. But you have to find them at the lower budget indie venues performing. Not on Ticketmaster. Also on Bandcamp, SoundCloud, mixcloud there are thousands of independent musicians who might only record and not perform.
Sometimes I go to BBQ joint on open mic night and there's some good local hillbilly musicians. I hate trivia nights but like open mic nights when guys just show up with a guitar or something
