Today marks the 78th anniversary of the Deir Yassin massacre, carried out by the Zionist militias Irgun and Stern in 1948, which resulted in the killing of 250 to 360 Palestinians.
The massacre occurred two weeks after a peace agreement had been requested by the heads of the Jewish settlements and accepted by the residents of Deir Yassin.
The attack began at dawn when the two militias stormed the village, located west of Jerusalem, surprising its sleeping inhabitants by attacks. Homes were blown up, and anyone who moved was shot. Children, women, elderly, and young men were lined up against walls and fired upon.
The bodies of the victims were mutilated, including the dismemberment of corpses and the brutal killing of pregnant women to bett on the gender of the unborn child
