The reason is probably to incite the US. If the Iranians are parading around the soldier if they find him (as they assume they'd do), it serves as one more provocation to the US. It can also result in demoralization, but the jews are convinced the US is in the stage of requiring more incentives to commit more and more against Iran.
Maybe they are right. It is in Iran's interest to avoid that from happening, and they are smart in keeping military actions reciprocal and hold back against the US. This way the US suffers defeats while the surviving soldiers serve to demoralize others, and it is terrible optics for the US internally.
