They cannot handle the big dogs and they are aware of this. If they failed against hezbollah every single time, how can they hope to handle the owners of hezbollah? On terrain that is much less favorable and much more alien than Lebanon, no less.
They've always known their military was shit in protracted war. Ever since the 80s, the IDF has been a laughing stock. This isn't the 60s and 70s where they can bully a bunch of Arabs who haven't fought a war since ww1 anymore. The Arabs in question are much more experienced than they were in the IDF's heyday (thanks to the IDF). They wouldn't have been able to handle any other war they contracted to the US either. Not Iraq, not Afghanistan, nothing. And for the part of the iranians, they sharpened their sword with a brutal war with Iraq, and now the people who were juniors on the front lines during that war are in charge of the IRGC. They've also watched the middle east situation like a hawk and have taken notes.
The Israelis, on the other hand, seem to have learned absolutely nothing from their past engagements whereas the Arabs and iranians have. They're getting themselves into an even worse situation than even the 80s.
Furthermore, I consider that Israel must be destroyed

The IDF tell ghost stories about how Hamas are bullet proof and how they can step out of the shadows to kill jws before vanishing like mist.
Many jwish families are now living full-time hiding in bomb shelters because the bomb warning siren system no longer functions... while millions of Iranians gather in the streets each night to curse the jew and laugh as bombs fall around them.
