I am wondering how long it will take people to draw this same conclusion on a wider scale
The SSPX original consecrations and "excommunications" were in 1988 and we are still four decades later debating if Rome is Catholic when it blatantly suppresses groups like SSPX or Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate
I guess the problem is Vatican 2 was "socially engineered" and that takes time and craft, and even when people might outright say "this change isn't Catholic", it's hard to get people to immediately agree because there is a lack of that social engineering around them which can make drawing the "right" conclusion easy or easier
(I suppose other explanations might be pertinent besides social engineering)
