He's kind of both right and wrong
People should make better wages / investments so they don't have to work as much (instead of them being syphoned off by shareholders / elites)
However retirement is also a more modern thing that can produce a lot of problems for people (he could have emphasized volunteering as a retired person as an alternative between the extremes)
To be fair. Economics as is is b.s.
If we structured society in a Christian (3fold) way, everyone could follow their own heart instead of someone else's. Its even been thought out. It was presented to the world at the same exact time as Wilson points of light confounded our situation; you know which one was followed.
When most people say retire, they mean getting away from the wage cage grind working for, and with people they fucking hate doing something they can’t fucking stand anymore so they can pursue their own venture, and/or hobbies. If it wasn’t for the KINT, most whites would be able to retire from working for someone else by 40-45 if they started working at 16-18.
Back in the old days, there weren't pensions or 401ks, sure, but everyone also had big families and multi-generational households were normal. So retirement meant living with one of your kids' families.
