If you are a nation of people with a shared history, culture, genetic line, language, religion then yes, it is an existential problem. your nation is your people. when you replace your people your nation no longer exists.

That's the lesson I take from this, the richer you are the more insulated you are from this. Be rich enough to live in a good neighbourhood or even ex-pat, have connections so your kids can get jobs through your network.
