There was a time the spics had to make a decision, to assimilate with the whites or with the negros.

I'll never understand why they chose the negros.

The spics are for the most part native American. Some of them did try to assimilate with the whites but the rest were so wildly evil that no one trusted them and they mostly died out. Actual Spaniards almost certainly assimilated into wider white culture
