Leaving them unattended for eight hours at a Barnes & Nobel would sincerely be more kind than dumping them into the literal animal enclosure known as "public schools." I'm not joking. I would feel safer leaving my child alone at a book store than a government indoctrination center.

Yup. Keep them home, and teach them basic reading writing, and math on the weekends if you have to. Pick out certain books for them to read on history, and some to introduce them to basic sciences, and principles. There are so many free options out there to learn at home on the computer for free. It’s been almost ten years, but I remember Kahn academy was still decent according to a homeschooling fren.
