Did you see the Morton Downey Jr show where Roy Ennis beat down Al Sharpton on TV? I remember seeing that happen in real time when I was a kid. Laughed my ass off.

Wish I had. I was in the navy and lived on a ship during most of the 80s, making it difficult to watch TV, and Morton Downey's show wasn't the kind of thing I watched. I looked it up, and now I'm going to have to see footage of that incident just for the lulz.

>On a few occasions, his attempts to provoke outbursts on his show resulted in physical confrontations. One such incident occurred on a 1988 show taped at the Apollo Theater, involving Al Sharpton and CORE National Chairman Roy Innis. The exchange between the two men culminated in Innis shoving Sharpton and knocking him to the floor, and Downey intervening to separate the pair.

Edit: Okay, found it. It's just your typical nigger chimp-out, but it's still great.

Oh yeah. It's typical but hilarious. I remember getting all excited and laughing like a hyena. My dad just shook his head and mumbled something about "typical niggers" and went back to reading his paper. Such a classic scene of White Americana.
