One thing I’ve been nutrition-pilled on lately is minerals. Especially COPPER. Copper is 100% a requirement to cross-link collagen fibers and build connective tissues. If you have low copper, you’re not going to be able to use iron or zinc properly. GHK-CU peptides have been really helpful for hair growth in some.
Best natural sources of copper are whole grains, fish, fresh red meat, and nuts.
In the past, people's diets were very rich in one of these things at the least. Now, usually people's diets are rich in none of them at all. So copper is a relatively recent concern, but you're correct that the cause could very much lie in low consumption of copper. Most foods rich in copper are also the same ones rich in iron, so dietary iron is also lower in the modern diet as well

But the underlying issue was low stomach acid for me.
