Although born in New York and raised in Wisconsin, Israel Greene joined the Confederacy at the outbreak of the War. He had been an officer in the USMC and eventually became a major with the CSMC. He also stormed Harpers Ferry and personally beat the tar out of negrophile terrorist John Brown.
