which is a lesson I try to impart onto younger men. It's not becoming autistically good at any one field. It is who you know and your interpersonal skills above all other knowledge or skills. get good at understanding and working with people. or your race is going to get plowed under.

It's also about hyping each other to outsiders. All his friends called him a "genius", which is half the reason he was able to get an audience with so many higher-ranking people. The guy was an advisor on so many different boards because everyone around him painted him as this kind of Renaissance man who understood how everything in the universe ties together.
It was all bullshit; but like you said, he had great interpersonal skills, knew how to party, and could get your organization easy cash. That, in turn, grew his network, meaning it grew his access to more people and more information. The guy was an Israhelli spy first and foremost.

You don't need personal skills and it shows in his personality, writing, and posessions.
Just simplify it and say it's teamwork.
