"with no cure" is media fear-mongering speak for "you're gonna very uncomfortable for a while, but with some basic treatments you'll probably be fine"
As we must remember, all of the super scary diseases the media loves to fear monger with are actually quite survivable. the only reason they seem so deadly is because they mostly occur in africa and india where the most common form of medicine is covering oneself with animal shit or drinking cow urine.
The only thing to really worry about, if you enjoy first world standards of living, is something specifically engineered to kill you slowly, to allow spread; that doesn't occur naturally.
