What little I understand of Spanish culture, and hence, Hispanic culture in the Americas, is that they are obsessed with perfection. To the point where it's almost impossible for them to get along with each other. Like, Anglo-Saxons will "go along to get along" but I don't really see that concept in Hispanic culture.
They are also obsessed with their language and culture, so much so that they refuse to integrate with US culture and language. So be it. Go be hispanic somewhere else.
I don't think anyone has a good track record ruling over Spaniards / Hispanics unless they did it with an iron fist, honestly. They respect legitimate authority. But that authority has to come with real actions, not just words.
