>Like its illogical if you wanted to protect the rep of your community you'd openly condemn and expunge these individuals from your community, not give them a shield

It's weird how widespread this "illogic" is too. Talk with a normie Republican about Epstein, right? "Well, it's not like we can just go extradite a member of the Royal Family - Britain is our ally! And can you imagine the fallout if Bill Clinton was exposed to be a pedophile? What would that say about our nation!?" (<-- real talking points given to me by Republicans defending Dum Blondi)

I'm like "It would show our nation doesn't stand for pedophilia at any level at any time, wtf? And sure if England doesn't want to give up Prince Andrew let them defend the pedophilia like Israel; at least that stain isn't on us."

"No, no, it'd do too much damage to our reputation."

Completely illogical`` - it's clearly more damaging to your reputation to *defend* the pedophiles and child rapists. I mean, from my ethical standpoint anyway. But it seems most people you talk to (even in my friends and family) have the outlook of "Eh, what's a little child rape between countrymen?"

``That is, completely illogical if you begin from the same moral precept that you and I seem to share which is: Pedophilia is not to be tolerated at any level in society.

And now I'm reminded of [this Chappelle bit](https://youtu.be/PZW6CfEPFnU?si=k3-5ie8LwIgWu44m&t=250) (worth watching the whole thing, but this bit in particular is pertinent). But Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew (and Epstein and all the rest) are pretty fucking far from "superhero" material.
