Jim from Huck Finn is a "negro". There's a organization called "The United Negro College Fund". I doubt if it had the connotation of nigger that they would have used the term. But depending on who you ask, Jim is also a nigger.
Despite all of these names the truth is that they are all "Negros" in the end, and "niggers" is what they are when we're sick of their shit. Neil Degrasse Tyson, Chris Rock, Justice Clarence Thomas, etc., These are the blacks that the KKK would call "one of the good ones", but if they did something fucked up, believe me we'd all being calling them niggers.
Creating some taxonomy like they aren't all Negros in the end seems like jewish mind twisting.
