I think you're too cynical. My Dad was "divorce raped" by my mom, and yet here he is, retired, with children and grandkids who love him who he sees all the time.

Go find some divorced dad, snuggled up with his sons and daugters, his little girl falling asleep with her head on his shoulder as he reads them a bedtime story and say "but but.. your 401k." See if he regrets what he's done.
