Yeah same points for me, the ratchet effect that I’m watching out for I’d say started at the beginning of the self-proclaimed generational run, that was him pulling back on the more edgy hitler/racist stuff, which that one was reasonable - he’s getting more attention, going on bigger shows, he’s getting older himself, more mature, also trying to avoid media smears or getting Charlie Kirk’d, makes sense.

So I don’t/didn’t even find that one suspicious, but adding these recent pivots now I’m feeling like I’m being ratcheted.

There’s been a noticeable narrative shift recently that I’ve seen from the sort of middle tier podcasters - people who I listen to but who I don’t fully trust, Owen Shroyer and Nick I’d put in that category - where suddenly military considerations trump every other point, and the justification has kind of boiled down to “erm, you’d be a total retard if you didn’t think this was a good idea”.

Like, Owen Shroyer the other day went on this big rant about how he had thought about it long and hard…and you know what, taking Greenland is a great idea, and literally we have to do it. And his big justification after like a 15 minute spiel about how this satisfaction with taking Greenland just came to him the night before was “I see no downside.” There was like no actual thought or…premise to the justification, it was just “consume Greenland, get excited for next territory”.

Nick too, he’s been like “America! We just take shit!” Um, America that’s controlled by the Jews that you were just ranting about literally 5 seconds ago? Like, hey Nick, you and I aren’t taking shit, America isn’t suddenly run by the white hats and Manifest Destiny, it’s still run by Jews.
