I've read several articles about how affordable, cheap Chinese EVs are highly problematic for Europe and would spell doom for America if they were ever allowed to be sold there. The two biggest issues are that they might catch on fire and they're possibly *(probably)* spying on you.

Meanwhile, Every modern vehicle with GPS or Sirius XM access (active or not) or OnStar, SYNC, Connected Drive, etc *is spying on you* and reporting it to insurance companies.

Also Tesla, the biggest EV manufacturer in the world for over 15 years, has had numerous issues with their EVs randomly catching on fire:

Chinese evs are even more self immolating time bombs, when the fire starts the doors don't unlock, trapping the passengers inside, many such cases in China. Apparently the Chinese evs use the batteries as part of the car structural frame and no bottom plate, so anything that scraps the car bottom can easily damage the batteries.
